What does Edwards Mediation Academy offer that other mediation training doesn’t?
Edwards Mediation Academy courses combine practical instruction with interactive online teaching methods. All courses are taught by recognized experts in the mediation field who integrate actual experience with academic theory.
What are the benefits of online mediation training?
Online mediation training enables students from all around the globe to advance their mediation knowledge. There is no need to travel to obtain Edwards Mediation Academy training, allowing us to impact the lives of beginner and advanced mediators alike, in their local communities.
How is the learning structured?
Learning is delivered in online modules so that students can work at their own pace, in the privacy of their own office. The modules include narrative instruction, expert mediator commentary, text and mediation role-plays that demonstrate real life situations.
What is the follow up to online training?
Once the online portion of the training is complete, students may choose to add face-to-face, hands-on training and coaching with Bruce and other instructors in various locations around the United States and overseas.
How are the courses designed to meet the needs of a global audience?
Edwards Mediation Academy courses are designed to incorporate essential mediation skills instruction as well as regional information. Courses include country specific actual mediation role plays that enhance participant understanding and learning, as well as commentary from experts with local knowledge and experience.
How do I know if I am ready for Advanced Mediation?
While the first chapter does cover important theoretical principles of mediation, this course was designed specifically for those with training and experience in the mediation process. Are EMA courses accredited? Can I get a certificate?
Our Advanced Mediation course has been accredited with the California Bar Association for 29.5 hours of CLE, including 2 hours toward ethics and .25 hours toward Substance Abuse/Mental Health. Our Medication Skills course has been accredited with the California Bar Association for 23 hours of CLE including 1.75 Ethics hours and 1.5 toward Bias hours. If you are from out of state, please contact your state bar association about reciprocal accreditation.
Once you have completed a course you will receive a certificate of completion from Edwards Mediation Academy. For the Advanced Mediation Course you will receive a certificate for a 45 hour course, for the Mediation Skills and the Mediation Skills for the Indian Audience you will receive a certificate for a 40 hour course.

Once I start an EMA course, how long do I have to finish?
Once you begin a course with EMA, that course is active for 6 months from the start date. However, we understand that things happen and if you need more time to complete your course, just give us a call.
