Mediation Skills Course

Garcia v. Golden Acres is a 2 party, elder care/personal injury case with high emotions and expert participation.

Olivia Garcia was injured while at Golden Acres. Her children, David and Rosanna Garcia, have filed suit against the facility and have brought an expert on standard of care to the mediation. Demand is $983,000.

Golden Acres is represented by the CEO, Ivy Fine, and her patient care supervisor. They contend that the facility was not negligent in its care and that the children had failed to accept the facility’s care recommendations.

Kumar v. Kumar is a family business dispute involving high emotions and issues of business succession.

The Steaming Pot is an upscale restaurant in Bangalore. Opened in 1971, the two children of the deceased founder, Mr. Kumar are in a legal dispute over ownership and operation of the restaurant.

Advanced Mediation

Scott Thompson v. Spring Mountain Resort is a multi party, wrongful death case involving issues of product and premise liability set against the backdrop of complex insurance issues.

Scott Thompson, an 18-year-old about to go to college, is killed while mountain biking at Spring Mountain Resort. His parents have filed suit for $10 million in damages and named as defendants: the owners of the resort, the bike manufacturer, and the owner of the rental shop. The bike manufacturer brought the Italian parts manufacturer into the litigation as a cross defendant.
